Ruby has been quite the scaredy cat lately. She is very frightened of loud noises so I guess we were asking for it when we took her to a Jazz game over the weekend. I normally stay home, put Ruby to bed, and hit the sack early while Byron goes to the Jazz games (okay, maybe I watch a little bachelor).
When his boss got a suite for the Bees guys, I couldn't possibly pass it up. I'm not a huge fan of getting a babysitter for Ruby while she's nursing and still trying to figure out a sleeping schedule so we took her with us. To say that was a bad idea would be an understatement.
We snapped this picture only seconds before she and I left the arena. Sheer terror can be seen in her eyes.
Every time the crowd cheered, and more often when the announcer's voice boomed, she would stick out that bottom lip and let the screams rip. Poor girl. The suite-goers would cheer and then turn to her, waiting for a reaction. She gave it to them every time and they got quite the kick out of it. After going for two walks, I decided that torturing my little girl was not the best mommy move I'd made yet (and there have been some doozies). I asked Byron to hitch a ride home and high tailed it out of there. Ruby seemed traumatized and fell asleep immediately when we got in the car.
I didn't need to be too worried. She woke up with all smiles when we got home. Sheesh... talk about high maintenance!
